As of January 25, 2026, the industry standard "Wooden Writing Desks" (QB/T 2384-1998) has been superseded by a newer version (e.g., QB/T 2384-2021).

Market demand is shifting toward modularity, customization, smart technology, and eco-friendliness, as well as scenario-specific applications in sectors like education and healthcare. Corporate procurement prioritizes alignment with spatial planning and brand culture, while household consumers focus on ergonomic design, space efficiency, and aesthetic integration with home décor.

Smart technologies are deeply integrated, with electric height-adjustment systems, IoT connectivity, and health-monitoring features becoming commonplace, alongside AI algorithms that enable "seamless interaction." Future desks will connect to health management systems and exchange data with devices such as smart wristbands. Eco-friendly production has become a necessity; companies are adopting green solutions-such as water-based finishes, FSC-certified wood, and recycled materials-while exploring circular economy models like old furniture recycling and detachable designs.

The market is poised for continued expansion, with lower-tier markets serving as a key growth engine. The industry ecosystem is evolving toward spatial solution provision, and cross-sector collaboration is becoming a trend. Furthermore, AIoT and VR/AR technologies will drive the transformation of writing desks into "smart workstations" that offer immersive office experiences.
